“FARID” I AM NOT OLD YET.. I AM JUST ‘DISTRACTED’.

Here is the Situation:

At noon yesterday, I went to the bank to pay my car installment for the month of 68th out of 84 months period. I was so glad that I still can pay it. On my way back to the office. I bumped into an old friend. I immediately greeted him. Shove him with a big warm handshake. Patted his shoulders and smile widely. I also shouted out gladly his name… like,

“Oh.. if isnt you FARID.. How are you doing..? Oh man.. you are looking fantastic! You look awesome.. and really Healthy Mann..!” 

well, it almost sounds something like that. Literally.

Then I added some more:

“No way man.. Can you believe it? Our workplace are so freaking near.. we should have lunch together sometime.. that should be great.. bla bla.. Oh Farid…. Farid.. “ 

Again goes I.

He quickly cut to the chase and asked me to ‘shoot’ my number to him. Immediately, I did. It became ackward when he saw I quickly shove my iphone back to my pocket without saving his name. As both of us which are really in a hurry both of us wave our goodbyes and so long! I then walked on my way again.

After a few walks away..

“Wait a minute. I dont think his name is FARID..!”

 NO? Oh no! I think I had mistaken him with someone else.. Did I? After a call to another friend of mine then I am sure that he is not FARID.. and this friend of whom i need the confirmation from also does not remember “FARID” as well..   But he did related to the real FARID… they were both classmates…

Then it means, I had forgotten “FARID’S” real name.. But at least i did not totally forget him….

After a tumultous moments of trying to remember “FARID”.. I brood over his name. He is not FARID. He is RAHMAT…. 100% correct! Yahoo! I am smarter than (budak kelas lima.. Budak kelas lima tak reti guna kalkulator saintifik ok?).. I quickly rang back to this friend that i asked about earlier and a very long “Aaaahh” goes for the both of us. Haha..

Moral of the story in the morning glory: I am not that Old that I forget a friend’s name. But I am just distracted. Very sorry Bro! 

P/s: I did not recieve any SMS, Call or whatever from RAHMAT after that. Either he take me calling him Farid really personal or he also forgotten my Name.. wahh… After all i did not see him saving my name either >:( . cheh..

(heheh). ada mamat ni minta number telefon dan lepas i dah bagi tu dia cakap... dia : how to spell your name? aku : u know my name? i don't remember telling you my name. dia : hehe aku : cakap jela tak tau nama aku. tak reti eja pulak. dia : aku ingat kau sebagai budak bagi air masa dalam bas je. normal case. haha.

29/04/2010 - 5:11 pm dian - Hi Marmalade, Dian in fact IS my real name. Forgive me for not being a girl. Hahaha Once upon a time i do fancy big pseudonyms until they forget me as well. I really hate it when that happens. There is also another encounter people mistaken me with somebody else. He goes "Wah.. You look so much different without your BEARD!" (I never recalled when was the last time I grew one, honest!).. If it is in the context of friends we are talking. to me it is fine for not remembering names. We are after all just a human being.. not a super sized computer with super terrabytes memories anyway. LOL. But I think if you are in one meeting and suddenly you did not remember the members of the meeting's name. Worse if you even scold that person over something he/she did not do! It happens to me as well, trust me. Aiyah.. If that is the case, then I guess remembering names is kind of important. Wear readable name tags pls! ~ (ooh this could be my next entry!) ? haha

29/04/2010 - 4:44 pm marmalade - hi dian (is this your real name?). hahah this entry reminded me of this one encounter i had at the mall. this gentleman came over me and said hello, he looked oddly familiar... i knew for sure that he was my batchmate, only i couldn't recall his name for some reasons. i couldn't possibly remember all 393 people! as we exchanged how are yous, and i just couldn't get rid off that blank expression of my face, i admitted that i couldn't remember his name. he got upset! hahaha. he said, "how could you not remember my name, when i remember yours?" i thought he was a bit rude, because at least, i told him the truth. furthermore, is it totally my fault that i was much more popular than him? hahahahahahaha! im sorry, i just thought that people should at least be excused for not remembering people's name. and it's not like we have been in the same sidang anyway. it was totally stupid. and at the end of it, he still didn't introduced himself. checked it out over at our batch book, then i knew him for like 5 seconds and now? i can't remember again! hahahahaha. goodness.
